Erin Hebert is a copy editor, fact-checker, and journalist based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

I have spent more than a decade working in daily newspapers, including The New York Times and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Let’s work together to make your writing impactful, precise, and inclusive.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

2016 – now

I’m currently on strike from my job at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, but when I’m working, I’m a copy editor and page designer on the news desk. My specialties at the Post-Gazette include news front page design and features copy editing.

The New York Times Editing Center

2015 – 2016

My first job out of journalism school involved working with editors across The New York Times to copy edit stories for the company’s wire service. I also coordinated design and editing for various specialty publications, and I often compiled and edited New York Times features for international clients.

The Advocate

2014 – 2015

I spent a year as an intern at Louisiana’s largest daily newspaper, where I copy edited stories for every department and designed front pages.

I’m also a 2015 alumna of the Dow Jones News Fund’s prestigious editing internship program and part of the Pulitzer Prize-winning team that covered the Tree of Life synagogue shooting in 2018. I have a degree in journalism from Louisiana State University’s Manship School of Mass Communication.
